What is a Catholic Immersion School? Over the past years, language immersion schools have become prevalent in America. Students who attend a "French Immersion" school cut themselves off from the distractions of the American culture and are immersed completely in French Culture. They speak French, are bombarded with French literature and arts, French food, French music, French movies. They comb their hair and brush their teeth "in French." A Catholic Immersion school immerses Catholic children in their Catholic Faith, heritage, culture, customs and ambiance at school and at home. In the consistent teachings of the Popes, the Catholic Church gives detailed instruction for just such a school. What emerges is a necessity in our times akin to the necessity of Christianity itself. St. Michael’s Academy Catholic Immersion School offers an education which brings the intellect back to Truth and Faith, directs the will to good, to renunciation and sacrifice, and forms the character making the child wise and strong, courteous and frank, honored and active. It blends Religion and life so that thought and action, all human life, both public and private, is in perfect agreement with the Truths of the Faith and moral law and is permeated with the Light of the Gospel. (Taken and adapted from Pope Pius Xll Allocution to the Sisters of the Assumption, May, 1946) St. Michael’s Academy is dedicated to transmitting the Faith to the next generation, and to the Church’s great mission of the restoration of Catholic Culture Write to us today:
